Top 3 players of the LPGA Classic in Galloway, N.J. June 3-5

On the beautiful Bay Course at the Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club in Galloway, New Jersey, the LPGA Classic took place on June 3-5, 2016. Now, there were so many appealing things that took place at the venue. There was lots of golf, lots of money in prizes, and, of course, the top golf women gathered to claim glory.

Expectations were high weeks before the ShopRite LPGA Classic began. All eyes were on the defending champion, Anna Nordqvist from Sweden who was looking for a record of two consecutive championships. That was a feat not yet accomplished by anyone in the history of the tournament. Here are the top 3 players at the ShopRite LPGA Classic.

Karine Icher

With a height of 5´7´´, the 2003 Rookie of the Year was in third place in the competition. Icher has been a golfer since the age of10. She married Fred Bonnargent in 2006. Her current world ranking is 52nd.

Haru Nomura

With a world ranking of 22nd, this golfer took the second place at the ShopRite and earned a total of $138,191.00. The Japanese golfer started playing very early as well - at the age of 11. Just like Karine Icher, Haru qualified for the Tour on her first attempt. She was the Rookie of the Year 2011.

Anna Nordqvist

The tournament’s winner is from Sweden. Her win at the ShopRite LPGA Classic is certainly remarkable as it is the first time for a successful defender.  This makes her the first golfer to win first place two years in a row. Nordqvist is now ranking 15th and an amazing 51 career top 10s. Anna will probably generate a lot of expectation as a defending competitor again next year.
